Leo Kottke's 1969 album "6- and 12- string guitar". Still one of his finest works. Gotta check out "Driving of the Year Nail" and "the Fisherman", two of my favorites.

Empty Space Orchestra

As if their awesome name, Empty Space Orchestra, was not enough, their music is STELLAR! Don't remember who tipped me off to this band or if I just saw their name somewhere but finally checked them out online tonight and wanted to pass along the info. Based on their webpage and youtube hits it seems as though they have yet to hit it big but as I live mainly in the world of complex instrumental jam/fusion I stumbled on them and think what they do should be spread.

Jimmy Herring Lesson

First Google video result for the man, the myth, the legend...Mr. Jimmy Herring. He is not micd great so might have to turn the volume up a bit, but it is a great insight into his approach to playing guitar.

Short film, good music

So I recorded and edited the music for my friend Esther's film "Lost and Found". Here's what it looks like.




It's a real cool short film, and I love her editing techniques. I'm a little disappointed in the quality of the audio- it sounded amazing in the studio, but didn't come out as clear in the digital copy for obvious reasons. The composer and musician is a really talent guy from Pasadena who is a music student at UCLA named Braeden. I'd love to hear some feedback.
